Membership
The membership of the society is open to any person hailing from the District of Palakkad or whose spouse belong to the District of Palakkad in Kerala, and who has attained the age of 21 and agrees to abide by the Rules of the society. The admittance of any member to the Society is subject to the approval of Governing Body. The reason for refusal of membership by the Governing Body will be communicated to the concerned person within 15 days. The Governing Body will submit a list of all such non-approval of membership, with reasons, to the ensuing General Body meeting. The Office bearers and Executive members of the first Governing Body shall be considered as the Founding Members of the Society.
Admission Fee & Subscription
The Admission Fee and Subscription shall be as under unless otherwise revised by the Governing Body with the approval of the General Body:
- a) Admission Fee Rs 50/- at the time of admission.
- b) Subscription Rs 200/- per year.
- c) Life Membership Rs.2,000/-.
The Governing Body shall have the power to increase, decrease or vary the amount of Admission Fee and Subscription from time to time. The Admission Fee and the first Subscription amounts are payable at the time of admission of the Member. Any subsequent subscription is payable within 15 (Fifteen) days from the date it falls due or it is demanded.
Register of Members
The Society shall maintain a Register of Members Containing the following information.
- The name, Address and other relevant particulars of all the Members of the Society from the date on which such person has been accepted as Member.
- All changes taking place in the membership from time to time.
- Such other information as is relevant and for which decision is taken by the Governing Body from time to time.
No person shall be considered as a Member or entitled to exercise any rights and privileges of a Member unless his/her name appears in the Register of Members.
Termination or Cessation of Membership
A member shall cease to be a member of the Society in any of the following events:
- a) On his/her death.
- b) On his/her written resignation.
- c) If adjudged insolvent.
- d) If found to be involved in anti-social activities.
- e) If adjudged by a court of law to be a criminal offender/proclaimed offender or of unsound mind.
- f) If found guilty of anti-propaganda in relation to the aims and object of the Society.
- g) If he/she fails to pay the subscription or contribution for 3 (Three) consecutive months from the due date.
- h) If he/she disregards the Rules or disobeys the decisions of the Governing Body.
- i) The decision of the Governing Body regarding the termination from the membership of the Society shall be communicated to the Member concerned.
- j) If it appears to the Governing Body that any Member has been guilty of any conduct likely to reflect detrimentally on the Society or has acted in a manner inconsistent with these Rules, it shall be competent for the Governing Body to request such Member to resign within 1 (One) month after such request, and if the Member fails or refuses to do so, the Governing Body shall thereupon convene a meeting and if at such a meeting, majority of the Members present and voting approve the expulsion of the Member, such Member shall thereupon ceases to be a Member.
- k) Any Member who shall cease for any reason to be a Member shall nevertheless remain liable for and shall pay to the Society, all monies, which at the time such Member ceases to be a Member may be due from such Member.
- l) The Governing Body may, in their absolute discretion, waive or remit the claim of the Society to all or any part of subscription and/or any other dues in respect of any Member.
- m) The Governing Body shall submit a list of all such members who have been so terminated to the ensuing General Body meeting.
